d) Perros Policía

El sentido del olfato del Beagle es muy superior al de los seres humanos. Esta es la razón por la que en muchos aeropuertos se utilizan para detectar desde drogas hasta explosivos. Cuando el animal reconoce un olor determinado, se sienta junto a la maleta hasta que llega el personal especializado en investigarla. 

e) Perros Salvajes

Los perros en estado salvaje viven en grupos llamados jaurías que responden a la jerarquía del líder. Al ser domesticados, cambiaron a su líder canino por uno humano. A partir de entonces el ser humano fue seleccionando y cambiando las características de los perros hasta lograr más de 500 razas diferentes. 

f) Perros de Caza

Los llamados perdigueros no están considerados como animales de labor; sin embargo, se entrenan para cumplir tareas específicas. Tienen un fino olfato que les permite rastrear a una presa y atrapar a animales pequeños. 

g) Perros Pastores 

Los Border Collie son perros muy inteligentes, ágiles y despiertos. Se usan para cuidar los rebaños y protegerlos de los depredadores. También actúan como guías y controlan el desplazamiento de los animales. Muchas veces los espolean con sus dientes para guiarlos por donde quieren. 

h) Perros Deportistas

Desde los tiempos prehistóricos los Huskies se utilizan para tirar de los trineos en el polo ártico. Estos animales, de constitución robusta y espeso pelaje, tienen una gran resistencia y agilidad. Los esquimales los domesticaron al comprobar que les eran más útiles que los caribúes y los renos. En la actualidad aún cumplen con las tareas de tiro. Incluso el mushing, o tiro de trineos con perros, es considerado un deporte. 

d) Police Dogs
