"Los 10 Mandamientos de los animales domésticos"

Tener un animal de compañía o doméstico es una gran responsabilidad, a diferencia de lo que muchos piensen, no son juguetes que se puedan desechar en cualquier momento, son seres vivos que pueden vivir entre 12, 15 años o más. Por ello, antes se tienen que asumir todos los "mandamientos" , deberes y obligaciones que su tenencia comporta: 

1 Nunca lo abandonarás ni maltratarás. 

2 Tendrás que hacerte responsable de sus necesidades de alimentación, agua, higiene y cobijo. 

3 Dispondrás de tiempo para cuidarlo. 

4 Tendrás que proporcionarle ejercicio y juego a diario. 

5 Tendrás que llevarlo al veterinario para prevenir sus enfermedades, para estar al día de vacunas o por si enferma. 

6 Lo identificarás y censarás en el ayuntamiento del lugar donde vivas. 

7 Recogerás sus deposiciones en los espacios públicos y no consentirás que las realice en parques infantiles. 

8 Dedicaras tiempo a educarlo para que sea respetuoso con el entorno y las personas. 

9 Evitarás ladridos excesivos o que malmeta contra la propiedad privada. 

10 No dejarás que tengas crías si sabes que no podrás hacerte responsable de sus crías ya que esto es una de la mayores causas de abandono de animales. 

Abandonar animales está prohibido en España y en muchos otros países: son seres vivos y, por lo tanto, se merecen respeto. A pesar de esto, es escalofriante el número de animales que se encuentran vagando solos por las calles sin un hogar. Es fundamental que antes de tomar la decisión de ampliar nuestra familia pensarlo muy bien para no llegar nunca a este extremo. Hoy en día, por desgracia, son muchas las causas por las que los animales son abandonados.
